Enviro Action -Climate Update

In this issue you will find a:

  • Link to what Proffessor Garnaut actuallv said in his interim report on climate change
  • Free digital copy of my new book, "Reduce your Carbon Footprint"

Australia will be one of the worst affected countries in the world unless global action happens soon.  The much awaited interim Garnaut report states that we need to do more than the target of 60% by 2050.  Even the conservation groups were surprised that is worse than they thought.

Climate change is happening faster than expected and Australia will be more severely affected than other countries.

Aussies presently release more greenhouse emissions per head than the rest of the world but because we will be the biggest losers it is time to wake up and change our behaviour!

We can make a lot of reductions with simple behavioural change.  For many of us, that is the hardest thing to do.  We are really creatures of habit.  What we need are simple tools to make it easy for us to change.  We need:

  • Readily available tools to help us remember to turn off or down power as we leave rooms, houses and offices and they need to be low cost or subsidised for those who can’t afford to use the technology.
  • We need better public transport AND seatbelts so it is safe.
  • Cleaned up power stationsand so much more.
  • The big thing is awareness and the will to do something.

Australians currently pollute the atmosphere with greehouses gases at a greater rate perhead than anyone else on the planet.  Yet our country is the most vulnerable and will suffer the most from the consequences.  Wake up Australia!

For anyone who wants more information about reducing you carbon footprint, you can download a digital version of my new book “Reduce Your Carbon Footprint”.

Professor Garnaut has been commissioned to do a policy review on climate change and its economic implication by the Federal Government .  He reported in Adelaide yesterday.  Here is a link to a lecture he gave.

Fot those who have been looking at my website over the past few days and thought it was a chaotic mess with pictures missing, this is because I was changing hosting companies so that I can give you  more robust and faster access to information.  Some files did not initally make the transition to the new place at the same time - result chaos!  My apologies.

Kindest regards
