Introducing fre*e teleconferences

Each month I plan to invite you to a teleconference with an expert that I feel will be helpful to you and at no cost.  This month the call will be with Wayne Cullinan who is an experienced ISO 14001 and other systems auditor.  This is your chance to ask questions and find out what the benefits and costs of auditing are, what is involved and clarify whether this is something you may be intersted in.

The teleconference will be on the morning of Wed 9th April and it will be recorded.  The call is to a US based service but I will provide a webcast so you can listen free on the internet if you do not want to pay for the phone call (around $2 if you use a phone card).  You will need to be live on the phone call if you want to ask questions in persons but I am very happy to have questions emailed to me at jean@enviroaction.com.au so I can ask them.  I aplogise about the silly*, some of your spam filters reject newsletters with certain words in them.

What Kyoto means to small business

Australia has been ratified as a member of the Kyoto agreement and the majority of Australian’s are pleased about this – discussion below.  This WILL make differences to the way we all do business.

Small businesses often feel that their little bit does not make much difference but there are 1.8 million of them employing 3.6 million people so all the small bits add up.

I am a small business person and I have been for 20 years.  I do understand the pressures and frankly also, the “overwhelm” at times.  This is where I can help you not only cope with the changes that greenhouse initiatives will force you to make but also to help your business increase its efficiency, staff retention and profits.

I have developed an effective 3 step system which makes it easy for you to go green, and as a side benefit, it also improves your bottom line plus takes a lot of that small biz pressure off you AND you can do it without leaving your desk.

How I help you go green

An effective environmental management system is simple, includes all of your activities, employees and contractors and makes your life easier and more profitable.

I help you to build a thorough foundation so that the system you work with is slimline, simple and effective.  It is a bit like an iceberg where there is a small visible part on top of a solid hidden foundation, built once and maintained easily.

Environmental Management Training Courses

The courses are done online and you receive a weekly email with links to allow you to download files and audio files.  CDs can be posted to people without broadband.  Each week you will be part of a group teleconference and in case you need to miss a call or you want to replay the call to your staff, the call is recorded and an MP3 file sent to you.

The group learning environment allows you to enjoy the benefits of a group of like-minded people working together to solve a problem using different experiences and skills. You’ll find the group learning experience to be more insightful than if you simply developed an EMS on your own.

You will develop a deeper understanding of the issues involved and remove feelings that you are the only ones facing a problem.

Because the group consists of people across a range of industries and at all levels, the learning experience will also raise awareness of issues you may not have not thought of yourself.

I also offer a GOLD level training option where people have the benefits of the group membership but also weekly one-on-one time with me and Priority Fax Headers (or special email for international clients) to send me material and questions.

And the savings you’ll make through reduced waste and more efficient operating costs alone will truly surprise you. I’ve witnessed businesses I work with see a reduction in costs and an increase in profits as soon as they start implementing the EMS!

So how much would an internationally recognised accreditation, more green and effective business and higher sales and profits whilst being held in high regard by your employees, customers and the community at large be worth to you?

Imagine if you could achieve all this for less than $2,500 and in 90 days or under?

For a limited time only I’m offering you the Enviro Action 14001 Environmental Management System group coaching course

FOR JUST $2,250 + GST!

These training courses work and are proven to work. And I wouldn’t still be providing this training if it didn’t genuinely impact on the businesses I coach.

I only take a strictly limited number in each course to keep the group small so I can give you most help.

If you are a primary producer and you sign up by 26th March (just after Easter) the cost is only $789.50 (+gst) after FarmBis Subsidy – not for NSW, Vic and ACT – this has been cancelled already.  This deadline is set by the new Government who do not support FarmBis – don’t miss out.  Sign up now

My Guarantee

I guarantee that if the business implements the training provided in their business you will reduce your risks and increase your efficiency and this greater efficiency will lead to increased profits.

In the unlikely event that you have a major non-conformance during your initial audit after fully internally auditing and reviewing your system, I will work with you by phone and email to resolve this non-conformance and help you to a successful certification.

The challenge for science is to communicate clearly so that everyone can understand the issues.  Einstein said that science is useless if it can't be explained to Grandma (paraphrased).  Science has been failing this when it comes to explaining ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION which is the real tern for global warming.

How we move around our cities - information from the papers

Can a major road project possibly be consistent with a future where national greenhouse gas emissions will probably need to be reduced by 70-90% by 2050 on 2000 levels?

Poor public transport isolates residents - Monash University professor of public transport Graham Currie warned climate change would worsen the situation in the outer suburbs. Residents of Melbourne’s booming growth suburbs are being left stranded and cut off from essential services as public transport lags behind development on the city’s fringe.  Read More.........

Carbon trading –thoughts thrown up in the air!

I have concerns.
•    The market is currently an unregulated mess.
•    In some states perfectly good natural ecosystems are being cleared to plant unsuitable trees to “reduce carbon emissions”.
•    In other states, SA for a prime example, the water restriction on garden watering are causing the death of large trees that absorb CO2 emissions.  I am not objecting to water restrictions BUT ..  Read more

How our obvious natural resources affect what we use to generate power

I spent last week in New Zealand with my daughter’s family.  It was interesting to discover that most of their power generation is from Hydro electric, wind and thermal power.  This is logical if you think about the land of the long white cloud (has been known to rain) which is always windy (a jaundiced view perhaps as I stayed in Wellington) plus.... read more

Australians are pleased we signed Kyoto

A recent Poll shows 64% of Australians support the Government signing Kyoto and less that 7% oppose it. OK 29% don’t know what to think or don’t care. Perhaps they are not used to thinking.

My personal belief .... read more

“Adams Pest Control had quality since 1996, ( first in pest control  in Australia).  It was decided to have one Integrated Management system covering the following ISO standards:   Adams Pest Control now has certification for  ISO 22000,  ISO 14001, Employee Safety & ISO 9001. Without the Enviro Action we would not have such a workable and user friendly manual.   We have recommended Enviroaction to number of our associates.”
