This week has been a bit different,
It was audit day with the auditor here all day checking my own ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to see that what I do complies with the standards and that I really do what I say. I always find having an outside person looking at my systems is helpful and gives me good opportunities for improvement.
And that continual review and improvement is the real benefit of having a system in place. And yes I passed again! I also picked up a couple of extra tips to help my clients. It is always good to work with another professional.
When my bookkeeper, Lilla, did my internal audit two weeks ago she came up with a loophole that led to a really good suggestion and I now have a “Jean fell under a bus” file. It has been very interesting downloading all those little extras that are not documented because I do them and I know how to. I teach my clients to do this and to have really good contingency planning but the detail needed for this one had missed me in my own business. It is not quite finished but well on the way.
I spent the last three days either in bed or in a recliner chair because I caught the dreaded “lurgy”. It can’t have been flu because I had the immunisation but it did a really good imitation.
So I wrote this on my new laptop that came loaded with Windows 7 and without any warning or opportunity to save, it decided to reboot me and there was no recovery file so –Bother! I have written this twice! I really find my productivity drops enormously when Microsoft forces a new system on me. My comfort zone is Windows XP.
