I passed my audit for ISO 9001 and ISO14001 as of course I should. But it still takes a day out of the week with the auditor and the auditors always push me because they know I know what I am doing.  And actually I like to be pushed - I learn more from the audit that way.

I started working with a new and exciting group
because they have are running fully on Version 7 with a full range of system choices – more about how this helps you below.

A new option to help
if you are not sure whether what I offer really will help you or not with the blueprint consultation for only $220.  You fill in a questionnaire and book a time for your consult and I promise you will get far more that $220 worth of advice on what would be really helpful for your business.  If you then choose to either self pace or join the next group, you simply take the $220 off the price you pay.  And if you don’t want to go on that is fine – I make sure that you have had far more value that your $220.  I never assume anything when you talk to me.

It is a new financial year
and my accountant and even one of my clients got stuck into me because they said I am devaluing what I do by selling it so cheap.  OK I listened but I am giving you a week’s grace.  So we have new pricing BUT I am holding the existing price for people who register by Thursday July 8th.

I bought a great tool for tracking my environmental footprint (including carbon emissions) simply and easily.  Much more user friendly than any of the so called “free calculators” and helpful in providing the objective evidence that the auditor asks for.  This a really useful add-on to ISO 14001 to save you time.

So how will the new Prime Minister affect small business  Personally I have never considered gender as relevant in business or politics and I hate it when people see me as a “token” simply because I often work in male dominated industries.  But I have deep concerns for small business of a very socialist background.

So why I am worried about these socialist roots of our new PM?  Simply because so many of my clients are small business people, totally non- unionised and forgotten by a socialist government.

People from Wales and lowland Scotland are often very sensitive about their history of oppression by the English and by English bosses and so many of them have become very strident union stirrers and they brought this with them as migrants.

I grew up aware of this because my mother was a Scot and I came to Australia when I was 9 and old enough to have learned two very different versions of British history – one for school and one for home.

While on the subject of where I came from, some of you may find this interesting.  My father’s people were farmers from the south of England and my great grandfather on my mother’s side owned a fleet of herring boats and fish factories in both Peterhead, north of Aberdeen, and Helgoland which was then owned by Britain.  My great grandmother was Danish.  I guess this is where my marine biology and love of the sea stemmed from.

And I have put an offer on a house.  If I get it this will give me much more office space and give me lots more light plus there is a long north facing roof that I can put solar panels on.

Plus I had a virus
that can’t have been flu because I had the injections, but it sure did its best to imitate it.

My kindest regards,

Jean

The Outlook for Industries in The Next 12 Months.

While most of the world’s developed nations are still coping with fallout from the ongoing global financial crisis, Australia’s outlook f is relatively positive, with economic growth estimated to reach 3.7% in 2010-2011.
The Australian industries set to fly and fall in the new financial year include:

THE TOP FIVE.................

How vulnerable is Australia to a catastrophic oil spill?

What has happened and is still happening in the Gulf of Mexico is nothing short of disastrous and should be a real wake up call to us in Australia.

Australia had a serious spill recently in the North West and I doubt if we all know the full impact of that because it was so remote..........

Government Has Reformed its Renewable Energy Target

The Australian Federal Parliament has approved legislation to split the renewable energy certificate market.

The legislation now effectively provides for two markets
–    one for large-scale renewable energy projects like wind farms and
–    one for small-scale technologies including solar PV.

The large-scale projects will deliver most of the 20% renewable energy target in the next 10 years.............

Cutting greenhouse gas emissions in commercial buildings

Two Adelaide companies, Tamrae Pty Ltd and MWQ Properties Pty Ltd, have won funding to help cut greenhouse gas emissions from two of South Australia’s commercial office buildings.............

A New Carbon Counting Tool

I bought a great tool for tracking my environmental footprint (including carbon emissions) simply and easily.  This is much more user friendly than any of the so called “free calculators” and helpful in providing the objective evidence that the auditor asks for.  This is a really useful add-on to ISO 14001 to save time.......

Exciting changes in Version 7

You have three main changes in Version 7:
•    You can now choose whether you want to read, listen to audio or watch the videos, depending on what suits your learning style and available time best.  Adding Video for all your training sessions is new and kept me very busy!

•    You are able to choose the system that is best for your business and still get the benefits of working in a group environment   You will have some “breakout” phone sessions for specific systems on about three occasions but all the system training has been coordinated so that you get YOU get YOUR download and you can choose between quality, safety environment or any combination of these.  This is working well with the new group who are all doing something different.

The thing is that systems are basically the same – the differences lie in identifying and managing the particular risks for your business,

•    And I have got myself up to date with computer scheduled SMS so that you get a short SMS message on the morning of your teleconference reminding you of your call.

By they way you can contact me by SMS as well on 0416 905 109  I know this is important for people using mobile phones as their main contact, because phoning landlines and especially 1300 numbers is expensive by mobile.

Reserve your place
in the next group now to avoid the price increase that my accountant insisted on.

p.s. Most  of my readers tell me this newsletter is a great way of getting up to date information easily but if you are really snowed under by lots of emails from other sources you can chose to keep in touch by emailling jean@enviroaction.com.au and go onto the monthly list.
