Steps to make your business green

3 small steps where each step is a 4 week module

Step 1 Build a good foundation Choose module environment , occupational safety, quality and/or food safety (HACCP) modules to allow you to tailor a system to suit your business.

Step 2  Build Your System with feedback., contingency planning and a documented
structure to make sure that the plans you developed on Module 1
go on working.

Step 3 Complete Your System  Add even more feedback and continuous improvement.   and be ready for Certification to ISO 14001 if you choose

..and you will be surprised how little it all costs and how much help you get...... AND you can do it online so you don't even need to leave your business.

ISO 14001, the International Standard for environmental management in 90 days - You can do that!

The modules must be done in the right order.  It is a bit like building a new garden. First you prepare your soil and the better you do this, the better your garden will grow.  Then in Module 2 you add the seeds and in Module 3 you maintain your garden with your internal audits and review.

The graphic illustrates the order that you build your system and how you can choose your foundation modules.  There are several certifications possible for you using this training program and these are listed below.

  • Environmental Module 1 + Module 2 = an easy small business system
  • Environmental Module 1+ Module 2 + Module 3 = ISO 14001
  • Quality Module + Module 2 + Module 3 = ISO 9001
  • HACCP Module + Module 2 +Module 3 = ISO 22000
  • Safety Module + Module 2 + Module 3 -=OHSAS 18001

"Sustainable agriculture, fisheries and forestry is paramount. Your work and your book show how small businesses especially can achieve commercial goals while nurturing their operative environments – a true win-win.

I cannot recall reading a book by an environmentalist which genuinely balances the needs of the environment with those of business, as yours does. Congratulations.

The case studies – ranging from the southern NSW lamb producers, who developed their environmental management programme from ‘mind maps’ to the tuna fishermen in Port Lincoln with their wonderful story of learning from experience that less can mean more – are telling examples of people doing the right thing and getting rewarded for it."

The Hon Peter McGauran MP
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
